9:30 Club

9:30 Club

I’ve been to three concerts so far during my time at Georgetown, all three have been at the exact same venue, the 9:30 club, but each experience was completely different.

The three bands I saw

  1. NEEDTOBREATHE

Genre- Christian Rock, but more like Alternative rock

I had never actually heard of this band before going to the concert with a friend and I was pleasantly surprised. Although we were all the way in the back of the crowd, the lead singer brought a ton of energy and got the entire crowd involved. He was crowd surfing, moving all around the venue, and even brought out Gavin Degraw to feature on one of their hit songs.  https://youtu.be/61Wm_qlVD4Q

2. Louis the Child

Genre- Dance, Pop

I had seen Louis the Child once before this 2 years ago at a Music festival in NYC called Governor’s Ball when they were relatively small. Now they have gained a lot of fame and are mainstream pop at this point. Luckily all my friends and I got there very early and were in the first row the entire time. The concert was amazing, and it was even better being able to enjoy it with all my close friends. Bonus- one of my friends it actually neighbors with Robbie from the duo and we got to go backstage after the concert and meet them and their parents. Quite a day!

3. Coin

Genre- Alt Rock

This is a smaller band that I got exposed to through a local Vermont radio station I listen to. They have a solid mix of pop sing along songs, and some very chill laid back songs. I went with a couple of friends who also had heard of the band and we were able to get up close. The 930 is so small that you really always have a good seat.
